Stage 1 Immigration – DONE!

n

nn

I received an email 2 days ago, it's such good news.

nn

My application for sponsorship of my wife (and stepson's) immigration has been approved, and the application has been sent to Buffalo, NY, for the final stage.

nn

This last step takes a long time, but it's almost certain everything will go off without a hitch. It's just going to need a bit more patience, and hey, we've hung in this long eh?

Updates

n

nn

No, it's true, I haven't been updating. Life has been busy enough to keep me away from my journal, and frankly I think that's a good thing.

nn

Work is good, if a little more quiet recently than I would prefer. My relationship is still going strong, and I seem to be developing a rapport with my stepson, I don't know who is more suprised about that!

nn

I'm off and running again. More later.

Tag!

nn

*sigh*

nn

It seems the weeks are going by so quickly! No doubt that's part of the reason for the way erratic LJ posting schedule I've found myself in.

nn

That, and the fact I'm still busy enjoying my life, and have no time free to write it down and over-analyze it. Things have been pretty good. There was a rough ralationship spot last week, the first one this year, but it has passed, and it was worth going through to learn more about the one I love.

nn

I have alcohol in my house for the first time in like 5 months. Needless to say, I've been good, and I'm having a little drink 🙂 It's been a really quiet day, with the exception of a few small work disasters, which have been resolved without needing me to drive in to work!

nn

I love my job.

nn

There's probably lots I could write, but I don't really feel like it. The sun's shining bright in outside, and there's a good stiff breeze.

nn

I think I'm going to go enjoy it.

nn

Cheers

n

It's been a little while

n

nn

and that's to be expected really. I've been spending my time living my life, instead of writing about it.

nn

It's been fun so far though. Married life isn't all that much different really, since we still have immigration to go through. We finally have everything we need to submit in round 1, and an appointment with the lawyer in 9 days. 😀 I will feel much better once this process is firmly under way!

nn

The estimate we got for completion was 11-15 months, but I've read one immigration account which took only 3 months to complete. Either way, it's going to take a little time to pay off the immigration expenses, and to save enough to do the whole move. It'll happen though, and I'm looking forward to it.

nn

Work is picking back up, and I'm finally getting busy again. I've had stuff to do every day at work, don't get me wrong, but for the last few months I haven't been running from job to job, and I've MISSED that. I'd rather be too busy, it really helps to keep my mood positive, and I've decided I'm going to do my damndest to be positive and unharmful in all my interactions. That is a lot harder to do than it sounds, but I'm giving it my best thusfar.

nn

The next couple of weeks are going to be interesting, Christina and I will be seeing each other a lot more. I get a 4 day weekend this friday, and I'll spend the weekend plus part of friday and monday with her. She's coming over next friday (lawyer stuff), and so we get 3 days together. The following tuesday there's medical exams, so she'll be back over, then we get our regular weekend schedule back.

nn

Anyway, time for me to get moving.

nn

Good morning all.

I'm getting married in 36 hours and 35 minutes.

nn

I'd better get my rest now, the next few days are going to be very full.

nn

Wish me luck.

Things are much much better since my last post.

nn

My lady bought me an engagement ring. Work is better, my bad moods have pretty much dropped off, and I'm much more hopeful for the future.

nn

In brief:

nn

I'm getting married.
In 2 weeks.
I bought the rings yesterday.
I'm very happy about it!

nn

I could babble, but I think I'm going to spend my time with my girl instead.

nn

Bye!

I just can't seem to avoid saying the wrong things this weekend.

nn

I swear, it's not intentional.

nn

I think I'm going to shut the hell up.

nn

I hope tomorrow's better.

nn

* EDIT *

nn

My head hurts.

nn

I'm going to lie down.

nn

It's not all good.

I have to learn to think before i speak.

nn

No, scratch that, I do that already, that's what keeps me from saying a lot as it is. Maybe a simple sanity check? Something like a computer spell checker, which explodes violently if you say TOTALLY the wrong thing.

nn

Shrapnel would be a pain (no pun intended), but it might be less messy than the results of a botched conversation.

nn

This year's been tough. Mostly its all internal, I'm fighting the down feelings hard, and while I'm not slipping under the waves I'm also not making much headway. I'm totally done smoking, it's been over a month. That's quit. I do kind of miss the going outside for breaks, and the conversations that occur while you're stuck outside freezing your butt off, but not enough to switch back.

nn

Quitting was HARD this time. Really, really hard. I was soo tempted so many times to go out and buy a pack, but somehow I managed to not. With that kind of a struggle so near behind me, I'd be stupid to go back. I'm not stupid. Foolish at times yes, but not stupid.

nn

I bought a real bed last week. It's my first real bed since I left nelson (that's 2 years ago by the way), since then it's been mostly air mattresses, and I'm really happy to have a bed that won't explode if you jump on it. No, I'm serious, really really freaken glad. Plus it's kind of nice to be warm. Air mattresses are always cold, they don't retain heat. Kind of ok in the summer, seriously sucky every other moment.

nn

I also got a tv. Pia sold it to me. For future reference… new tvs NEED the remote. It's no longer optional, you can't do shit without the remote.

nn

Thankfully universal remotes are cheap (like 10 bucks), so i got it running. I hooked it to my server, that super quiet low profile jobbie I built a while ago.

nn

I hooked up it's tv out and audio to Video 1, the tv out on my workstation to Video 2, and I still have a front panel set of plugs unused. I've got a usb gamepad hooked to it, and a supernintendo emulator running (I played mario world full screen and it was to die for). I have full net support, so I have streaming audio at my finger tips, and Divx movies play like a dream. It has a dvd writer in it too, so I can play dvds or burn them.

nn

It's a nice toy, and I'm glad it's working properly now.

nn

I'm off to play a game and drink some more. I'm hoping that will fix my broken tongue, so I quit putting both feet in my mouth. Damn, I hate that taste.
